A woman (name obscured) included this note along with a form she mailed in. So sad. The worst part is that there was absolutely nothing nuisancey about her mailing in the form. Just a standard part of the billing process. It wasn't even late.

One of my coworkers stuck a festive pen in her hair in lieu of the traditional fancy-lady-hat, which many of the other women in the office had pinned to the sides of their heads. This was my view for most of the day. The best was watching it move around when she talked.
Today was the Melbourne Cup, an unofficial national holiday in which just about everybody bets on a horse race. Between the office pool and off-track betting I lost $20 today.
It was pretty dramatic actually. The two horses on which I had the most money, Honolulu and Alessandro Volta, both big underdogs, were in the lead for the majority of the race. And then they were no longer.
On the bright side, I came up big in the office raffle. I won a small canister of shaving cream. I took a picture of it, but who wants to see that?
