I'm a happy little Vegemite!

The theme of this post is "recent developments."

- As of tomorrow morning at ungodly o'clock (9 AM), I am once again employed. I thought I'd be relieved and ecstatic. Instead I'm just cranky about having to wake up early. I choose to think that this speaks well of my level of emotional stability. I would say that my roommates, on the other hand, are relieved and ecstatic that I will be able to continue to pay rent.

- My beloved Boston Red Sox have been eliminated from contention. This is painful. (No, really!) However, I grudgingly admit that Boston sports fans have been spoiled lately and yadda yadda. And it's been exciting to watch the emergence of the Rays as a new power in the American League East, so I hope they win it all. One nice thing about having been unemployed for over three weeks(!) is that I got to watch or listen to every single Red Sox playoff game. So that was nice. Of course, nobody I know here cares at all.

- My favorite Australian Idol contestant, Sophie Paterson, was voted off today. For shame, Australia. This means I (we!!) have to listen to the hateful Teale Jakubenko perform at least three more times. And no, he doesn't get a link.

- Having income again should actually be pretty nice. I've been eating a lot of peanut butter & vegemite sandwiches lately. This is meant both literally and metaphorically.

I watched every single one of those games with you. Only it was online. And you're in Australia. And I am not. So it's not the same.

Man, I freaking miss you. No one to laugh at me when I refuse to chant at Youk.
